Historic Fairhaven, on the South end of Bellingham, was founded by Daniel Harris, aka Dirty Dan Harris, in 1853. It's quaint streets are lined with brick buildings dating back to 19th and early 20th Century. Fairhaven offers a variety of shopping, eating and sight seeing. Stop by Boulevard Park and have a coffee at the new Woods Coffee on the bay or check into the Chrysalis Inn for a day of indulgence at their Spa.
Fairhaven today offers much to the home buyer. Walk to your favorite coffee shop, stop by the new Village Books or catch an outdoor movie on a warm summer night. Fairhaven is also home to the modern Alaska Ferry Terminal and Amtrak Cascade Train Station.

Fairhaven is a highly desired neighborhood in Bellingham. There are character homes, water view homes, and a recent boom in the Condo market brought with it a wide variety of options for home buyers to purchase. Ranging from affordable studio condos to high end luxury view condos, there is something sure to please everyone.

The Port of Bellingham operates the transportation facilities of Whatcom County. Included in its operations are the Bellingham International Airport, the Bellingham Cruise Terminal, the Fairhaven Station, Squalicum Harbor and the Squalicum Marina, one of the largest marinas in the Northwest.
The Port also plays an important role in providing public access to Bellingham's beautiful waterfront with the development of several waterfront parks and trails. Currently the Port of Bellingham is working with the City of Bellingham to redevelop the centrally located 137 acres of waterfront property it acquired in 2005 from the Georgia Pacific Corporation.
